Painting of the Week: Emma McClure

Published 24 April 2020

I chose this painting by Emma McClure as ‘Painting of the Week’. I think we have all got to the stage where lock down is getting us all down, and not being able to see an end to it, makes planning and looking ahead difficult. This piece, ‘Roseate Cockatoos’ by Emma McClure just lifted my spirits. It’s both charming and hugely warming, with Emma’s brilliantly original take, sense of composition and pure palette. They look like they are tow friends having a good chat, commenting on passers-by, something we would all love to be doing right now! Some paintings just make one smile, and this is certainly one. It will be at the gallery shortly, and the framed size is 45 x 38 cms.
