Henrietta Dubrey was born in 1966 in Sussex. Frequent childhood visits to Cornwall made a profound impression on her and initiated her desire to become a painter. She trained at Byam Shaw, Wimbledon College of Art and finally at the Royal Academy Schools, where she particularly remembers the discipline of regular life drawing. For the first ten years of her married life she lived in France and returned to Cornwall in 1999 where she has worked from her studio near Penzance ever since.

Henrietta has had regular one man shows at The Belgrave Gallery since 2002, and also at the Lynn Strover Gallery. Her work has been selected eight times for the Summer Show at the Royal Academy, and is represented in collections such as De Beers and the Twofour Group. Her work has also been mentioned in several publications, Galleries magazine, The Guardian, 'St Ives 1975 - 2005 An Art Colony in Transition' by Peter Davies to name a few.

I noticed her work when I picked up a copy of the World of Interiors, and one of her fresh original paintings sprung out at me from the photo of an interior. It has taken me a while to track her down, but a visit to her studio was a treat. It is a very white, pure light filled contemporary space, created by her architect husband.
